Forskning kring EMDR
Många vetenskapliga studier har genomförts om effekten av EMDR vid PTSD. Resultaten visar att klienter reagerar bra. International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies (ISTSS) och Världshälsoorganisationen (WHO) rekommenderar metoden starkt vid PTSD även till barn och ungdomar.
EMDR har starkt forskningsstöd i behandling av PTSD. I början utvecklades metoden för behandling av PTSD. Nu vet vi att den kan användas vid ett brett spektrum av traumarelaterade besvär som:
- PTSD
- Ångest
- Panik
- Fobier
- Sorgereaktioner
- Rädsla, oro
- Negativ självbild
- Långvarig smärta
- Migrän
- Mardrömmar
- Negativa tankar
- Nedstämdhet
- Ätstörningar
- Stress
- Undvikandebeteende
- Sömnproblem
- Skuld eller beroendeproblematik
Sammanfattningsvis kan vi säga att EMDR kan tillämpas vid tillstånd där starka känslor är förknippade med tidigare negativa livshändelser.
